Rodolfo Flores was born in Lima Peru and became
an American Citizen at the beginning of the 90’s. He is a long time
resident of Queens County who graduated from the College of New Rochelle.
He attended the Columbia University Graduate School of Social Work, and
will soon receive his Masters degree from Fordham University Graduate School
of Social Services. For the past 10 years he has been an active volunteer
in political elections, not-for-profit organizations, and community affairs.
He has served in the local Community Board 3. As a consequence of
his community alliance, he was selected twice to serve on the Neighborhood
Advisory Board for Jackson Heights, East-Elmhurst, and Corona, which helps
to distribute Federal Community Service Block Grant to not-for-profit organizations
in his community. He immigrated to the US during the 80’s. While
working in factories, gas stations, delivery car-service, retail stores,
real estate and now, as an employee of the Bd. of Ed. NY, he has proven
himself to be a hard working community liaison, and advocate of educational,
social, and health issues. We are sure that as an effective activist, Flores
will bring sensitivity, leadership, and understanding in our community.
Indeed, he deserves our support and commitment: (a) supporting his electoral
campaign that would represent council district 25, composed by the neighborhoods
of Jackson Heights, Elmhurst, Rego Park, East-Elmhurst and Woodside, (b)
by giving him the opportunity to become the new Hispanic-American elected
official of the Borough of Queens into the City Council. Flores will represent
our roots and customs and our magnificent historical legacy and heritage.
His participation in local community boards and civic organizations includes:
